The Reason

A complete metamorphosis of an unexpected small inheritance and a VW van.
In the memory of two spirits set free on a wild Welsh wind during the October of 2014.

Bonjour du France

My humans are in France enjoying glorious weather, a tad hot for me this time of year. Still here they are visiting Chateaus and Troglodyte Villages where Tofu was quarried to build the Chateaus.

The trogolite village had dwellings even to small for my tiniest human to comfortably stand in.

Belemnites

Note from human :  Failing eye sight? How wrong you are Wilfrid, our nimble fingers and observant eyes found us many Belemnites....

Now where did I put them for a photo...watch this space.

Here they be!

Norfolk in Good Company

My humans seem obsessed with gardens. At least on a visit to Vicarage Gardens they left me surrounded by elegant good company.

Much better than plants and flowers.....

The Far East

Four plus hours, flat uninspiring scenery and long straight roads until we arrived in Norfolk. Norfolk and flat are erroneously associated, I bet my humans are pleased they left their bikes at home.

It had forecast loads of rain BUT I saw nothing but sunshine and dry mornings.

Typical English Sea Side but not as picturesque as the west coast.

One of the many fossil beaches, non were found by my humans, must be their failing eye sight, apparently there are thousands of fossils on this beach.

My human in yet another of his silly hats.

A seafaring town. Watch out for the cutlass wielding pressgangs. Looking at the way my humans were dressed later in this post they visited the right century for Press Ganging to happen.

Lotsof old houses to visit

.

And my humans managed some time travel....

Homeward Bound

Do humans ever have enough of beaches? They had to stop at damp and dark Criccieth AGAIN!

Me parked up, I only just fit with my humans mountain bike hanging on my back.
It really is a dull place.

Still the weather did perk up.

Crabbing

My human's family follow in the footsteps of humans Wilfrid and go crabbing.

That's a long way to pull crabs out, my human showed them how and plea they where caught.

Surfing Dude?

I told you I would embarace my human, call that surfing? What has he got on his head?

Note from human... Wilfrid! The photographer didn't want to get their feet wet, I started a long way out when the wave was ginormous.

Down to the beach

All down hill to the beach, I know I did it last year. My human took his two wheeled transport.

And rode along the beach, never takes me on the sand!

Pristine sand and two tyre marks.

But for every down there is an up, Tee Hee Hee. And there is no engine on my humans two wheeled transport, should have taken me.

Bank Holiday Weekend Emptiness

Hardly a soul and it's a bank holiday Sunday, why? Because it's cold and wet. My human left the comfort of my interior and elected to brave the weather on his bike, brrrrrrrr.

However the weather did pick up and the rest of the day was glorious and the beach remained very empty. I heard rumours my human went surfing for 1 and a 1/2 hours, BRRRRRRRR!

Note from your human... the sea really was not so bad, the secret is to go in when the tide is coming in as the sand warms it up. Great Fun. I will post some pictures.

Elemental Forces Win the day

Early on a Murky Saturday Morning, parked at a derelict airport in deepest Nottinghamshire, I awaited to see humans plummeted to earth from a small flying machine.

What did I see? Nothing!

The elements took control with a blanket of  low cloud.

Still all the humans found a great place for a Brunch in some small market town.

Close Encounter On Cannock Chase

It's a good job my human had his prescription riding glasses on, without them this could have been curtains for this Adder and Blood sucking cowboy style for my human.

Eventually it raised its head to strike but thought better of it and slithered away.

A rare floral event

Me amongst lots of tulips, better than Amsterdam.

After almost 30 years the tree peonies bloomed for the first time, right by my parking spot, I must have green fingers.

To think my humans had almost given up on it.

My human went Mountain Biking with a friend leaving me in good company for four hours on Cannock Chase.

My inspired human

A bike ride inspires my human to become a song writer, not a patch on Beethoven in my opinion, but he tries bless him.

He sang non stop and now I can't get the blessed words or tune from out of my head, I wish he'd put on Mr B's 7th Symphony.

Here is some of his effort.

Chorus,

I hear the forest calling.
As winters grip declines.
And Rising Brook from Fair Oak flows
Through banks of Celandine.

Verse
( and there are many more)

Along paths once trodden lightly.
Ancient oaks show signs of Spring.
And ghostly voices from ruined mills
Lament as Horn Pool Spills
Down broken waterfalls.

And he sings it in the key of Am his favourite, shows he's a Wednesdays child.

Darkness

In true human Wilfrid fashion I and my human awoke at 4 and 5 am to see the lunar eclipse and an amazing blood moon, what did we see?

NOTHING!

My human got carried away with the above image interpreting what he saw typical romantic artist
 it was just
 black.

Service Time Again

My human takes me for a well deserved health check and service then scarpers on his bike leaving me amongst an assortment of vehicles including two tractors and in the capable hands of Al  an underpaid, overworked, unappreciated technician, his words not mine. Apparently all the vehicles in bits is down to Brexit the effects of which are already being felt for the delivery of parts, again Al's words not mine.

The recent high winds caused my human some problems, did he really try to jump that tree?

My human a shadow of his former self, he wishes!

Happy New Year

New Years Day and my humans drag me off to the birth place of Industry to see their friend dance in a strange group called The Ironmen.

My human is not the only one with a silly hat.

Such a group of roughions had I ever seen.

I was left with a view of the bridge, the beating of a drum, the clashing of sticks
, raucous shouts and very jolly band.
