The Reason

A complete metamorphosis of an unexpected small inheritance and a VW van.
In the memory of two spirits set free on a wild Welsh wind during the October of 2014.

Leaves are falling

My humans took to the trails of Cannock Chase on their Mountain Bikes leaving me covered with leaves.

In the words of a well known song, or maybe not....

"Leaves are falling just like embers in colours red and gold they set us on fire, just like moonbeams in our eyes"

This sure seems a good way of Killing the Blues.

A very different ride to the misty day in the week. Shown above.

Chase the Cake

My human family almost (Sarah and Phoebe behind the camera). My human only purchased a two bike carrier rack and so I did many journeys backward and forward with bikes. All in a good course they had entered a Charity Bike Ride called Chase the Cake, a 5 mile and a 20 mile off road ride was on offer. I'm impressed with the smallest human on the smallest bike doing the 5 mile ride and there was some big climbs and descents. Cake at the end was delicious and the brass band playing added to the happy atmosphere. Cannock Chase offers some faboulous green, blue, red and black bike trails.

My old Goodyear Eagles only did 15k the rear were not completely worn but cracked, disappointing.

Llanwddyn Folk and Accoustic Weekend

Another great weekend in the shadow of Lake Vernwy dam.

Sunshine, good company and music filled the air. These were the artists who performed.

My humans even played on the campsite and in the bar, Great weekend.

Where are we?

On the way home a visit to some wonderful gardens, lunch from my fridge and sunshine.

Not a very friendly garden, glad I was in the car park.

Oh Dear, staggering car Park attendant here.

One last postcard

Hi Wilfrid, back soon.

Here is the wonderful Azay built in the 1500s a lovely chateau and village.

There is also a great artist in the village and many galleries, very inspiring.

Postcards

Human Wilfrid sent and collected postcards. So here is the 21st century's equivalent.

Chateau, rivers, villages and warm weather.

In the World Cup winners country, excellent.

And of course the country of fashionable, slim, sophisticated women.
As seen in these Loire fishermans wives below.

Before the summer solstice

Old Farm Moreton in Marsh for three sunny days. We were offered pitch 9 or 6 should have gone for 6 as it got most of the sun. However it was warm even in the shade and my human never misses a chance to sit out with a glass of wine.

Some old Tithe Barn, my humans were suitably impressed saying it was amazing inside, I will take their word for it.

Now this was high with views all over the vale of Evesham.

Below is
Snowshill, full of old clutter  probably a bit like my humans shed.

Gardens were impressive a bit like my humans garden but on a much grander scale.

Broadway deli bread £2.35 for half a baguette and it was as tough as old boots. That will teach my humans to shop earlier at a supper market.

Lots of trees and great excitement over a flowering Wingnut tree. I thought wingnuts held things together, ah well what do I know?

More buildings of honey coloured stone, Jacobian Apparently.

Human Wilfrid loved the Cotswolds and I can see why, pretty villages, historic houses and gardens and stunning views.

Cotswold Glory

Me and my human enjoying Cotswold views.

Lunch from my fridge, I know how to keep my humans happy.

Wonderful art and crafts gardens although this is my human on the wild side.

Homeward via Stratford, a quick shot of the theatre as we passed through. Human Wilfrid would cycle here after work in Willenhall in the Black Country to catch a performance then home again.

Castles, passes and brilliance.

Homeward bound and a stop at Criccieth Castle much loved by human Wilfrid. Today it was drab and grey much like it was whenever human Wilfrid took his family there. In all fairness it did brighten up later.

Then a big climb from lake Bala over the Milltir Cerrig pass much enjoyed by human Wilfrid, to think he offten cycled over this pass. When later with family in a car he would scare his wife Peggy on the climb up as she would shut her eyes and scream Wilf be careful as she sat on the side nearest the drop.

Home and although tired I am a master at knowing how long I am, perfect parking and I have no parking sensors

Brilliant!

Sea cliffs and sand

My humans went costal walking in a sea mist. No views so why?

They took me to the sea and parked me where human Wilfrid parked his Hillman Husky when he took his family to Whistling Sands.

A good steep climb back from the sea and yes the sand does whistle under my wheels.

First rain and Seagulls

Rain overnight but the sun soon dried everything.

I am really glad I don't live by the sea, splattered for the second time this week.

My human went off again exploring the big hills down to the beach, early rain did not deter him. Human Wilfrid often cycled this coast.
