The Reason

A complete metamorphosis of an unexpected small inheritance and a VW van.
In the memory of two spirits set free on a wild Welsh wind during the October of 2014.

April Surprises

Almost May and I awake to a covering of snow, light but not moving in the early sun. My human found deeper snow on the higher bike trails of Cannock Chase. Hope he had his winter undies on.

Then when out of the snow many trees had fallen over the track slowing my humans downhill run.

My human remembers when humanWilfrid and his cousin Tom took the family walking one Easter in Derbyshire, the day started warm and sunny but ended in a freezing white out.

Shelter in a storm

Porth Dinllaen a sheltered Bay on the West coast of Llyn Peninsula, my humans spent the day on the beach. I could have stayed on the NT car park for a pound less than the golf club field that all the signs pointed us too.rip off, but my humans seemed to have a nice day.

 Entertained by Welsh musicians.

All ending with a soaking in the Hot Tub. My human still wore his hat, can't part him from it.

Invasions

We decide to do what all the Welsh Princes failed to achieve over the centuries, invade Caernarfon Castle, easy!

Human Wilfrid enjoyed his visits to this castle, it is much changed from the dark dank corridors of the 1950s and 60s, Wilfrid would have been very impressed.

Blustery Sunshine

A dramatic fiery start to the day, my human was out at 5a.m to catch the sun rise and morning chorus, the raucous Rookery that I have been parked by all week.

More costal walks and hunting for semi precious stones in a Jasper quarry.

My humans tried mini kite flying and rubber band powered motor competition.

Human Wilfrid always enjoyed flying kites many home made by my human. He also loved making up some competition for his children to do on holiday, he would have loved the rubber band powered motors that all the humans made. I watched with great amusement at the snail pace these inventions travelled at.

Coast line ramblings

My humans left me at Carreg and went off rambling. Views are spectacular this is looking South West at Porthor over a sea with white horses. It was blowing a very cold Western wind.

The view North East from the same spot above Porthor

Human Wilfrid enjoyed visiting Porthor Bay a small sandy beach with the famous Whistling sand. In his day cars could be driven right to the bottom of the steep access road and parked on a small turning spot hardly big enough for two cars, human Wilfrid always drove down and parked, he seldom walked. Today no vehicles are allowed to venture down and for this reason the beech is seldom busy.

Welsh Adventures

Off to Wales on quiet roads that human Wilfrid took my human along many years ago.

I stopped for lunch on the east side of Lake Bala in glorious sunshine.

Destination reached and the squeaky sun kissed beach was very empty, my humans had the whole bay to themselves.

The beach is Whistling Sands and the sand squeaks when you walk across is, there are only a few beaches is the world that can do this.
