The Reason

Fickle Weather

My humans are becoming fine weather creatures and are sat inside me, yes it's raining again! So I got them to update the blog whilst waiting for the patch of blue sky to arrive.
So this is me, no not in snow but white sand.
Some place tropical, they wish.
My human at Glencoe.

Human Wilfrid was always chasing patches of blue sky when he was on family holidays in Wales, but they always were some other place when he got to where he saw them. Must be a family curse.

Highlands, Moors and White Sand

Friday we left the Bonny Banks of the Loch and headed north. I was impressed with the dramatic mountains and passes, lochs and moors. The only problem was the amount of stopping my humans did, so many things to see around every corner. The road to the Isles was magnificent.
Then finally white sand beaches like some tropical location but with snow on all the mountain tops. The day finished with a glorious sunset over a sea full of islands.

Below the snow line, JUST!

A day of much snow but I was just below the snow line so saw it, felt it but did not have to lie in it, thank goodness. My humans went a walk and returned like snowmen so they spent the rest of the day in my warm interior. BRrrrrrrrr.........

A day of seasons

Wednesday started frosty and bright over a calm Loch. My humans had a hearty breakfast and set out north along the West Highland Way, I did not see them again until the evening. I asked them to post some pictures of the day.
They walked some 10k in warm sunshine, snow and dramatic skies. They would like to share more photos but the internet uploads are a little slow.

Thursday, so far wet and low cloud so no views of the surrounding mountains.

Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond.

The Journey North

Early cold start 5.30am, sunny all the way, no clouds on the Lakes in Cumbria. We arrived in Glasgow by 9.30 am. My humans put on my sat nav to get around Glasgow but forgot it was in no M way mode so I gave them a tour of the city. We did get to Loch Lomond for midday though, I'm brilliant! Thats me on the lake side, you can see the snow on the mountains, stunning. My humans had a 4K lakeside walk why I rested.

Conservatively Fashionable

My humans insist I tone my attire down to just this. Humph..........

Fashionable Attire

I have been thinking what to wear For my trip up north. I thought this little number might be suitable, as I do not wish to stand out in this land of Plaid.

Unseasonable dreaming

I dreamt I was some place north, where blue faced men wear skirts and strange music haunts the air. A ghost from my past shimmered and shivered in snow and ice, beckoning me to take this journey north.

I have been cleaned and polished, laden with equipment and food, something is in the air, BUT if my humans think I am wearing these socks they can think again!
Snow socks in April? Humph.....

Brum Vista

After first calling at a Camping Store my humans had a visit to Barr Beacon. This high vantage point in the midlands was often visited by human Wilfrid in the 1950's to show his family the views over the Black Country and Birmingham. We were here today for a pony birthday party at Fox Holes Farm.

Post Cards

As promised my human looked back in time through human Wilfrid's photographs. Only one found, film was scarce and so human Wilfrid purchased Post Cards from all the places he visited. These are from the 1940's and 1950's TOP LEFT Barmouth promenade. TOP RIGHT Barmouth from Fairbourne side. BOTT RIGHT Photograph of one of Fairbourne Railway Engines. BOTT LEFT Barmouth Bridge from harbour.

In human Wilfrid's footsteps

On the return journey home I took my humans along the gated mountain pass roads that human Wilfrid loved to drive along.
High above Barmouth on single track roads.
Snow on Cader Idris and a cold wind.
This is also Sustrans route 8. I don't know if human Wilfrid ever cycled this road, I think my human is going to check the old photo albums.

Some photos by my camera support team.
Followers have been questioning my importance to have and the exsistance of a camera crew. So I have posted this rare picture of her capturing a sun set.

Walking to sunset

I noticed the Ducks are back to normal.
THursday my humans took advantage of the sunshine and walked to The sea. They stopped for lunch overlooking Barmouth bridge. Then on over the Salt Marsh to Fairbourne.
They walked over the bridge to Barmouth for Fish and Chips, again! Such an unhealthy lot.
Then back over the bridge to watch the sunset over the Fairbourne beach, EXHAUSTING! Once again I could have saved their legs, human Wilfrid would never have walked his family so much but taken them in Bettsy.
