The Reason

A complete metamorphosis of an unexpected small inheritance and a VW van.
In the memory of two spirits set free on a wild Welsh wind during the October of 2014.

Mirror Pools

Back to Bill's county I enjoyed a blast down the M40 to junction 12, human Wilfrid would have loved this on his bike. Got left at least 300 yards from the house and gardens my humans visited but it was warm and peaceful.
My female human amongst the many flowers that were in bloom.
My driver on one of the many terraces at this place. He loves his hats.
Now that's what I call rhubarb! Human Wilfrid loved his rhubarb and custard and I believe his garden was as wild as this in parts.
Everything here is huge!...... My human being engulfed by some huge plant, John Wyndham comes to mind.

Celestial

Me enjoying Venus our brightest planet and Jupiter above her. Human Wilfrid would have been excited by such a closeness of the brightest planets and would have dragged his children from their beds to see it. I noticed my human was out some time soaking up the magic of it all, so human Wilfrid's influence must have rubbed off. Human Wilfrid would then have locked himself away in the best room and put aside his beloved Ludwig and listened to some Holst. Peggy his wife would have been shouting Wilf turn that down.

Band on the run

I am now Wilfrid the roadie, wicked!

Neglect

Uh! Left in a corner why a load of creaky old Austins get the limelight, humans!

Beneath strange skies

An evening of human drawn skies.

A gift

I am now officially a van of leisure. My human went mountain biking and his friend Dave presented him with the garland. Sorry presented me with a garland, my human is already a man of leisure, lol.

Three days

I arrived in Afan on a hot Thursday evening and we made our way along a precariouse mountain trail to a remote farm high above the River Afan. On our way we past signs to Penarth, my human did not stop to explore the town even though his dad human Wilfrid named his home after this town. I wonder why Wilfrid did this?
Me parked at campsite, no one else here, peace!
Fresh farm eggs left by the campsite owner for my humans breakfast, according to the Campsite Blog these eggs are like gold as the birds have a dispute with their owner. I think I gave my human a good nights sleep and cooked his eggs to perfection.
Me leaving the campsite, what a valley. Great place to stay for this mountain bike paradise which my human aims to enjoy for three days. The camp site is Willow Springs at Glyncorrwg www.willowspringscampsite.co.uk .
Friday, hot and sticky and I am left at Afan Forest Park under the shade of trees and my human vanishes on two wheels.
Me uder the trees. I study the poor tormented souls, their limbs twisted and wrapped around the trees, is this what becomes of departed Mountain Bikers? Check out my humans profile I think he's well on the way to ending up like this.
My human high above the valley of Afan only another 3k to the top, rather him than me.
Decent descent, fun!
Saturday it rained all day my human returned at 1700 very very wet. I need to speak to him about leaving his sodden clothes and shoes in my interior, they really pong.
Sunday the heat returned and after more steep climbs my human dropped into the dramatic valley. I feel sure that human Wilfrid would have loved this Mountain Biking, my human has enjoyed all the trails at Afan, Whites Level, The Wall, Blue Scar and Penhydd Trail. I must have a word with him I feel he's getting a bit long in the tooth for this sort of excitement.

Sunny Days & Moonlit Nights

My humans finally used me for the purpose I was created for, camping! They found a lovely quiet spot at Springslade Lodge on Cannock Chase, just us, probably just as well as my humans took two hours to erect my awning, it says 3 minutes on the instruction leaflet, still they got there in the end even if it was a little twisted.
They prepared a meal and sat inside at my table, another first. They then drank wine with two other humans, the campsite owners very nice people. What a sunset, human Wilfrid loved sunsets and although his were mainly over the sea I feel sure he would have enjoyed this one.
I switched my lights on for my humans to read and draw once it was dark. They then took 15 mins to work out my fold down bed.
A last walk before bed so at least my humans saw the moonbeam lit field and star filled sky which I had all to myself, magnificent!
