The Reason

A complete metamorphosis of an unexpected small inheritance and a VW van.
In the memory of two spirits set free on a wild Welsh wind during the October of 2014.

Buckets

Poor Wilfrid he does look after us he gave us a very comfortable ride and provided refreshments before the drive home. Buckets! Really, he does need to give us humans more credit. Our gift to him was 4 egg cups made of metal so they won't break and blue like his curtains.

Watling Street Trip

I had a trip North on the A5 taking my humans to Chirk Castle on the Welsh borders. I am not sure human Wilfrid ever visited Chirk but I know he travelled along the A5 through Llangollen on his bike and many times in his cars, probably even Betsy.
On their return I brewed coffee for them and they sat enjoying the beautiful views. I think my humans have no understanding of liquid volume they returned with 4 miniature Buckets, certainly not large enough to use for washing me, carrying water for my fresh water tank or using for my waste water, I fear they have made a huge mistake, there's going to be a lot of spillage.

Cold?

Honestly, a little bit of frost on Wilfrid's screen and he thinks winter is back. I parked him in a warm sunny spot next to more Vdubs, such an easy life. I did 4 hours mountain biking in shorts and T shirt, lovely Spring morning. He really needs to toughen up.

Cold Start

I took my human for another day out on his mountain bike. Brrrrr cold start and he was in shorts. Birches Valley is a very nice place to wait for my human to return, he left at 9.00 and returned at 13.00 must have been a long ride.

The home of Welsh Princes

Back over the border and into human Wilfrid's beloved Wales. A visit to Powis Castle, wonderful! On the way to Welshpool and just past The Halfway House I took my humans over the bit of road human Wilfrid called the Roller Coaster in his day all humans in Betsy the Hilman Husky would feel their stomachs turn as they went up and down each roll in the road, human Wilfrid loved it. Of course my refined modern suspension spared my humans any such experience. P.S Next time I will go faster that might work.
An impressive Castle and magnificent gardens.

A fond attachment

I am getting to like my bike carrier. Yesterday we took one of our humans to Cannock Chase a favorite spot of human Wilfrid who visited often. Once again I made coffee for my human and his friend on the return from their ride. They said they had cycled 15k in 50mins, not sure if that's impressive I would be ashamed if that's all I managed. What I do know is they spent longer than 50mins sat in me drinking coffee and chatting.

A small procedure

My humans took me to visit their friend who is talented at fixing anything. A small operation and my circuits are all fixed. Can you spot the damage my humans did to me in Wales?
However their friend wanted to see all my features, even insisted in my top being popped. He even looked at my most private parts! I think he liked me.

White Peak

My humans followed in human Wilfrid's footsteps and drove me to The Peak District and parked me in the pretty village of Tissington. The humans then rode off on their bikes apparently cycling to Parsley Hay along Tissington Trail a disused railway track then on the High Peaks Trail. They say the views were wonderful. I don't think human Wilf rode on this trail it would have been steam trains in those days.
On their return my humans sat in the sun and I brewed them a cup of coffee, I didn't realise I could do this, real proud of myself, I made them very comfortable before we set off home. Ahhhh a good day.

Wires crossed

My humans attached something for me to carry their bikes on, not sure if they are expecting me to break down, the effrontery! Then when I signaled right the contraption signaled left and when I signaled left it signaled right, such disobedience, I insisted it remained unconnected. Oh dear, Is it me or it?

Azure seas

My humans came with me to Llanbedrog where Human Wilfrid took his family each May for a week. Here I am above the sands with my humans and I have also put a picture of Betsy a Hilman Husky with her human Wilfrid.
My humans said the sea looked like the Med so I have put some pictures for you to make your own mind up.C

Kite flyers

The hot weather turned windy this afternoon so my humans took me to Aberdaron where they flew kites on a very wild beach. They parked me close to the sea and reversed me into a post Ouch! not sure if human Wilfrid flew kites but it looked a lot of fun.

The last kingdom

Yesterday my humans left me to try and become film extras on Whistling Sands Beach. Some Saxons were fighting off Vikings apparently it took all day to film 2 minutes of the BBC series and the main actor is Matthew Macfadyen from spooks. They then took me to Abersoch where human Wilfrid used to go when he holidayed at Llanbedrog, very busy so no photos of me by harbour.

Lazing about

My humans vanish to Whistling Sands each day on foot.I have been left stationary for 3 days, cleaned and polished. Days are hot, nights clear, sunsets amazing. Wilfrid the human enjoyed the Llyn Peninsula I can see why.

Besotted

I am in love!

Wales Revisited

Today I was driven many miles over mountain passes and narrow lanes. Here I am resting at Lake Bala apparently human Wilfrids favorite Welsh Lake. My humans are cheap skates and would not pay the £2.50 to park me right by the lake but you get a feel for how wonderful the location is. They also stopped at Cricieth to see the castle and beach, very hot and sunny, apparently when human Wilfrid came it always rained.

Anticipation

My humans are giving me lots of attention. A trip to a place called Wales, I overherd its a wet and windy place and they are staying in a warm bungalow and not inside me, don't they realise I have a very good heater? Obviously fair weather campers. Phew, they loaded everything but the kitchen sink and that's only because I have one.
